Two teachers arrested for giving student a hair cut

Two teachers attached to the Vavinna Kanishta Vidayalaya in Wattegama were yesterday arrested on charges of having forcibly cut the hair of a girl studying in Grade-6.

Police said the arrest was made on a complaint by the student’s parents. The two women were produced in the Theldeniya Magistrate’s Court and released on a surety bail of Rs.25,000 each.

The Wattegama police are investigating. (LSP)
