Two boys found dead in water pit

Two boys aged six and eight were killed yesterday after they fell into a 15-feet deep water-filled pit in the Morawaka area, police said.

Police said the victims had fallen into the pit which had been dug for irrigation purposes in the Yahalawila estate. They were found dead on admission to the Morawaka Hospital.

The postmortem is to be carried out today. Morawaka police are conducting investigations into the incident.
