True SLFP with me: MR

Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa said today the true Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was with him and that he was the one who protected its policies.

He made these comments when he visited the Madurawala Pradeshiya Sabha in Horana this morning while on his way to a wedding.

Mr. Rajapaksa told the media that he had been invited to the rally to be held in Kandy today to canvass support for his prime ministerial candidacy at the next General Elections but had not confirmed his participation.

Several former ministers including Kumara Welgama came to meet him having heard of his presence at the Madurawala PS. (Buddika Kumarasiri)
