SSP passes away

Kandy-Nuwara Eliya Special Task Force (STF) Zonal Commander SSP B.D.Chandrasiri passed away this morning at the age of 53 after a sudden illness, the STF said.

He joined the police department in 1985 as a Sub Inspector. SSP Chandrasiri who later joined the STF played a major role in the war against Tamil Tigers.

His funeral will take place at 4.00 p.m. on February 1 at the Bentota Public Cemetery.
