Sections related to media will be removed from 19A: PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told the parliament today that sections related to media in the 19th Amendment to the Constitution would be removed.

Earlier, a statement was issued by a several newspaper publishers raising concerns over the proposed clause 104 GG of the 19th Amendment. They said the clause would result a negative impact on press freedom in the country.
