Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka's first-ever rotary car parking system has been introduced, marking a significant advancement in urban parking solutions in the country.
The facility has been introduced by Hayleys Aventura, a subsidiary of the Hayleys Group.
The innovative parking system, which enables vehicles to be parked and retrieved through a vertically rotating structure, was officially inaugurated at a recent ceremony attended by Hayleys Chairman Mohan Pandithage and Co-Chairman Dhammika Perera.
According to Hayleys Aventura, the rotary parking system operates by rotating vehicles from top to bottom or bottom to top within a specially constructed framework, allowing for efficient parking and retrieval while maximizing the use of limited land space.
The company described the system as an ideal solution for modern cities and rapidly developing urban environments, noting that it can accommodate a larger number of vehicles within a relatively small footprint.
Hayleys Aventura further said that the system incorporates facial recognition technology for vehicle parking and retrieval, while advanced sensor-based safety mechanisms have been implemented to ensure the security and protection of parked vehicles.
The introduction of the rotary car parking system is expected to provide a practical and space-efficient solution to the growing parking challenges faced by Sri Lanka's urban areas.
