Four school students drown after boat capsizes in Wanathawilluwa lagoon

Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - Four school students have died after drowning in the Mangala Pura lagoon in Wanathawilluwa while travelling by boat to collect flowers.

According to the Police, the five students were travelling in a boat on the lagoon when it capsized, causing them to fall into the water. The deceased were Grade 11 students from a school in the area.

One student was rescued at the scene, while the others were admitted to Wanathawilluwa Hospital.

Four students who were in critical condition were later transferred to Puttalam Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
