Reformists to hold Sathyagraha

The UNP reformists group had summoned a meeting of the party’s provincial council members in order to re-educate them on the latest developments with regard to the present crisis.

Informed sources said the meeting would be held at the Library Services Board in Colombo at 2 pm today.

Reformists are also expected to summon local government members on next Wednesday August 17 at Solis Hall.

It was reported that the reformists are to inform the provincial council members and the local government members to be prepared for a change in the party.

Meanwhile four newly elected UNP members of the Chilaw Pradeshiya Sabha are to hold a Sathyagraha in front of the Party headquarters, ‘Sirikotha' against the failure of the party to appoint a group leader and a whip for the council.

Appolo Raj, Leslie Fernando, J. M. Nameez and Chamara Nishantha are the Pradeshiya Sabha members who are to hold the Sathyagraha. (Yohan Perera )
