PC members clash in the hills

A brawl between two members of the Central Province council (CPC) was reported on Saturday night during a meeting at a house of a powerful CPC politician in Kandy, informed sources said.

Another member of the Council, who tried to stop the brawl, had also come under attack by one of the said councillors, who started the brawl. Although prominent government members of the CPC tried to stop the scuffle, the two continued until they themselves stopped it.

The brawl had taken place in the presence of family members of several councillors, sources said. (J.A.L. Jayasinghe)
