Man jailed, deported for housing maid

A Saudi court sentenced a Sri Lankan worker for three months and ordered him lashed 90 times and deported from the Gulf Kingdom for housing an absconding housemaid, a newspaper said on Sunday.

The man said he wanted to help the Sri Lankan maid but denied that he had a relationship with her, Sabq said in a report from the eastern port of Dammam.

“The maid spent one day at the worker’s room but he denied any relationship with her… the maid was arrested and sent to the women’s jail.” (Source: Emirates 24/7 News)
