Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara summoned by CID

Colombo, July 02 (Daily Mirror) - Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) of Police for the Eastern Province, Waruna Jayasundara, has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for questioning, police sources said.

The senior police official has been called to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged links with organised criminal activity.

According to sources, the inquiry relates to alleged associations between SDIG Jayasundara and organised crime figure Mandinu Padmasiri, also known as “Kehelbaddara Padme.”
