Iranians arrested with forged passports

Three Iranian nationals were taken into custody by the Bandaranaike International Airport authorities yesterday for attempting to travel to London using forged passports, police said.

The suspects, who were taken into custody by the SriLankan Airline officials, had tried to leave using forged Malta passports. CID officials later found Iranian passports in the possession of these suspects.

The suspects, who were produced before the Negombo Magistrate today, were ordered to be remanded till April 9.
