26 injured in accident on E01

At least 26 people including 12 men and 14 women were injured when a bus heading to Matara from Kottawa crashed into a lorry parked on the Southern Expressway this morning, Police said.

They said the lorry belonged to the Road Development Authority (RDA).

Police said the passengers were on a private visit to Matara and that those injured were admitted to the Kalutara Hospital.
