Indian night club dancers deported

The female five Indian dancers who had overstayed their visas and been arrested in a night club in Borella were black listed and deported, the Emigration and Immigration Department said.

These dancers, who were aged 18 -25 years, had stayed on for more than four months after the expiry of their visas.

They had been performing at a night club on D S Senanayake Mawatha, Borella and earning Rs. 65,000 per month, said an officer of the investigation and intelligence unit of the Emigration and Immigration Department. (Jayantha Samarakoon)
