Indian fishermen remanded

Some 35 Indian fishermen, who were arrested by the navy while poaching inside the territorial waters of Sri Lanka, were remanded till September 9 by the Puttalam Magistrate Bharathi Wijeratne.

The Magistrate also ordered that the four fishing boats belonging to the Indian fishermen be handed over to the navy until the court case was over. (Hiran Priyankara)
