Sources say that there is heavy Police presence around the court complex in Hulftsdorp today due to the protest that is to be held urging the government to free former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka. The protest is organised by Anoma Fonseka with the participation of several political partiesis to be held to commemorate the second anniversary of the imprisonment of the former General who led the military that crushed the LTTE.
According to sources within the court complex there is no sight of any protestors in the vicinity as yet. The police are armed with riot vehicles and water cannons in order to quell any violence. The police discovered ten hand grenades yesterday left near the Hulftsdorp Police station.
