Weddings banned; no gatherings until further notice

The Government has decided to suspend all functions where people gather in large numbers including weddings from Tuesday midnight (17).

According to the Government Information Department, weddings would not be permitted to be held at homes and wedding halls and all other gatherings have also been suspended until further notice.

It also stated that the restaurants could be operated only for 50 percent of their capacity.

The Government also requested people to avoid large gatherings considering the COVID-19 situation in the country. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
