Violating travel restrictions; Over 450 people sent back at provincial borders

Some 469 people have been turned back at the provincial borders yesterday for violating travel restrictions and the 265 vehicles they were traveling in.

Police said the special check points are set up at 13 entry/exit points of the Western Province to monitor those who violate the inter provincial travel restrictions.

Accordingly, the police have checked 1,144 people travelling in 799 vehicles at the exit points on the Western Province while 1,404 people travelling in 704 vehicles were checked at numerous entry points in the province.
