The first diesel shipment under the Indian credit line received last night at the Colombo port and started unloading, Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) Chairman M.R.W. de Soyza said.
He said a ship with 35,000MT of diesel sailed into the country and all arrangements have been made to unload at Kolonnawa refinery.
He also said the received diesel will be distributed with the support of the railway tanker facilities immediately.
"With the distribution, the prevailing diesel queues at filling stations will be over. Another 20,000MT of diesel stocks will arrive the country within the next couple of days," he said.
We have sufficient petrol at the storage terminal and required volume will be distributed to Colombo and suburbs, Soyza said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
