Two men nabbed when attempting to rob Rs. 22.3 million

Two robbers who attempted to snatch Rs. 22.3 million from a man who came to deposit the money in a bank were arrested by the Thambuttegama police this evening.

The police said the robbers, aged 48 and 50 came to the  bank in a motorcycle with weapons.

But a policeman who was on duty in the area managed to apprehend the suspects while they were trying to flee the area with the robbed money.

However, the money was taken to police custody and the robbers were nabbed with their weapons.

The suspects were residents of the Thambuttegama area. Thambuttegama police are conducting investigations.
