Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - Despite reports that several Sri Lankans, including notorious underworld figures Manudinu Padmasiri Perera alias 'Kehelbaddara Padme' and 'Commando Salintha', have been arrested in Malaysia, local authorities are yet to receive official confirmation, the Daily Mirror learns.

A senior officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said Sri Lankan authorities have formally requested details of the arrests through standard diplomatic channels.
However, discussions are still ongoing between Sri Lankan and Malaysian police regarding the matter.
According to reports, Malaysian police arrested several individuals on July 9, including 'Kehelbaddara Padme' and 'Commando Salintha'.
The trio was reportedly arrested in Kuala Lumpur while attempting to flee to Thailand using fake passports. The arrests were part of a covert operation by Malaysian authorities targeting a suspected human trafficking and arms smuggling ring with links to South Asia.
Kehelbaddara Padme is suspected to be the mastermind behind the assassination of underworld figure 'Ganemulle Sanjeewa' inside the Hulftsdorp Court complex in Colombo.
Investigation revealed that the killing was coordinated by 'Commando Salintha', who is believed to be one of Padme’s key operatives.
Padme is believed to have fled to Malaysia from Dubai following Sanjeewa’s murder.
