Some Christian preachers against COVID vaccine: SLNCC

Some Christian preachers are misleading their followers requesting them not to get the COVID-19 vaccine, saying the Bible had forbidden taking such vaccines, Sri Lanka National Christian Conference (SLNCC) said yesterday.

President of Sri Lanka National Christian Conference Bishop Janaka Kumaratunga told Daily Mirror that many preachers had been asking the people who attend their prayer sessions to resist vaccines.“many who come up with this false advice are individual preachers rather than those who belong to religious denominations,” he said.

“Do not get deceived by false interpreters of the Bible. Christians should not hesitate to get the vaccine,” he added. (Yohan Perera)
