Secondary market sees limited activity as yield curve remains stable

The secondary market recorded limited activity with thin volumes, while some mixed trading was observed in the longer tenures.

Amid the subdued activity levels, the overall yield curve remained unchanged. Among the maturities traded, the 01.06.2033 bond changed hands at 10.50 percent, while the 01.11.2033 maturity traded at 10.62 percent. 

Further along the curve, the 15.06.2035 bond traded in the narrow range of 10.78 percent-10.80 percent. 

On the external front, the Sri Lankan rupee depreciated against the US dollar, closing at Rs.310.90/US dollar compared to Rs.310.30/US dollar recorded the previous day. 

Overnight liquidity in the banking system expanded marginally to Rs.337.92 billion, from Rs.336.51 billion recorded previously.
