Over 3,000 dengue cases reported within three days

Colombo, July 4 (Daily Mirror) - The dengue epidemic continues to hit the country with 3,422 dengue cases having been reported within three days this month, Acting Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Kapila Kannangara said today.

He told the media that the total number of dengue cases have gone up to 58,810 so far.

He said the death toll has also gone up during the last few days where 39 deaths have been reported.

Dr. Kannangara said the most number of deaths are female while ten out of 39 are male.

He said the epidemic situation is expected to continue for days to come.
