Special talks on cooperative fuel station challenges



Colombo, July 4 (Daily Mirror) - A special discussion was held at the Ministry of Energy to address a range of issues affecting cooperative fuel stations, with the participation of government ministers, senior officials and representatives of cooperative societies.

The meeting was jointly chaired by Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe and Minister of Energy Anura Karunathilaka.

Discussions focused on discounts provided to cooperative fuel stations, the supply of fuel on credit, land ownership issues relating to fuel stations, and the construction and renovation of fuel station infrastructure.

Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development Upali Samarasinghe, Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Janaka Rajakaruna, Managing Director of the Corporation Mayura Netthikumara, senior officials of the Ministry of Energy, and chairmen and general managers of cooperative societies also attended the meeting.
