School to remain closed in affected areas

All schools in Ratnapura and Nivithigala Educational Zones would be closed tomorrow due to flood situation, Provincial Education Zonal Secretary Mahinda Weerasuriya said today.

He said that the schools which were used as temporally shelter for the people displaced by the floods will be closed.

Meanwhile Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam had vested the authority on Principals in the affected areas to take decisions regarding closing or opening of the schools.
