SJB to prepare a blue print for economic development

The Samaji Jana Balawegaya (SJB) yesterday said it has embarked on preparing a blue print to revive the Sri Lankan economy and is prepared to talk to international organizations as well for the purpose.

SJB MP Kabir Hshim told a press conference that himself, MPs Eran Wickramaratne and Harsha de Silva will preparing the blue print as members in charge of the SJB Economic Policy Centre .

“We will meet economic experts, trade chambers, leading entrepreneurs representing difference sectors and religious leaders to get their advice for the blue print,” MP Hashim said.

“ Sri Lanka has become an insolvent nation as the reserves are sufficient for only two weeks,” he said in responding to a question raised by the journalists.

SJB MP Eran Wickramatatne said if the SJB comes in to power We will make legal reforms under which a special body will be set up to file legal action against the corrupt. “This body would be an independent one. Legal provisions will be brought in to prevent government lawyers from withdrawing court cases,” he said.

Meanwhile the MPs rated the SJB protest on Tuesday was a success and claimed that members of general public from all walks of life and even some supporters of SLPP had participated in the protest.(Yohan Perera)
