Prison guard at Wariyapola interdicted

A prison guard attached to the Wariyapola Prison has been interdicted on allegations of supplying narcotics to the inmates, the Prison Department said. 

Prisons Department Commissioner (Administration) and Spokesperson Chandana Ekanayake said the guard has been interdicted on the suspicions based on information given by four inmates. 

“We have to look into the allegations made by the inmates and in the meantime, we have interdicted the guard,” he said.
