Peradeniya Hospital resumes surgeries after MSD assures stocks

The Peradeniya Teaching Hospital has resumed all surgeries after Medical Supplies Division (MSD) assured relevant stocks, Hospital Director told Daily Mirror.

He said they already had relevant stocks; however, the decision to suspend scheduled surgeries was taken as a measure to save medicines for emergency surgeries.

"As we are now assured of more stocks from MSD, all surgeries can be carried out without a hitch," he added.

All planned surgeries were suspended since yesterday due to a shortage of drugs and consumable items. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
