PM’s office says MR has not resigned, sources confirm new cabinet soon

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's Office said a short while ago that Mahinda Rajapaksa had not resigned as the Prime Minister. Sources however said that it will be a new cabinet which will be sworn in, with opposition members in it.

This follows a proposal be several parties, that a new interim government must be appointed to ensure political stability.
