PM sworn-in as Social Empowerment Minister

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was sworn in as the Minister of Social Empowerment and Estate Infrastructure Development, the portfolio previously held by late Minister Arumugam Thondaman.

The Prime Minister was sworn-in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat today.

With the demise of Minister Thondaman, the ministerial portfolio fell vacant.

Secretary to the President, Dr. P.B. Jayasundera was also present on the occasion.
