More than 7-hour power cut tomorrow

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has given approval to impose over seven hours countrywide power cut tomorrow.

The PUCSL said the CEB requested to increase the power cut duration due unavailability of fuel for 300MW thermal capacity.

Accordingly, a five-hour power cut will be in force in the areas PQRSTUVW from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm and 2 hours and 15 minutes from 6.30 pm to 11.00 pm.

Also, the areas categorizes under ABCDEFGHIJKL will experienced 5 hours of power interruption from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm and 2½ hours from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
