Maligawatta incident; seven remanded

Seven persons including a businessman, who were arrested in connection with the incident at Maligawatta, where three women had been killed while eight others were injured in a stampede, have been remanded until June 4, by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this evening.
The incident had occurred when a group of about 500 people had gathered at a house, where cash had been distributed by an individual. The injured persons were receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, sources said.
