’Kush’ worth over Rs. 20mn sent from US seized

A 44-year-old man who came to the Colombo Central Mail Exchange to collect a parcel containing more than 1 kg of 'Kush', a banned drug scientifically known as Desmostachya bipinnata sent from the United States of America (USA) has been arrested yesterday by the STF, Customs officials and the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB).

The STF said the drugs were concealed in a parcel under the disguise of toys.  

The parcel contained 1.3 kgs of Kush which has a street value of more than Rs. 20 million.

The suspect, a resident of Colombo 14 was handed over to the PNB for inspection.(DSB)
