Julie Chung appointed new US Ambassador to Sri Lanka

Former United States Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Julie Chung has been appointed as the new Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
 
“Chung’s distinguished State Department career and exceptional leadership make her the perfect choice to represent the American people and advance the U.S.-Sri Lanka partnership. I look forward to continuing our work together,” United States Deputy Secretary of State Wendy R. Sherman tweeted on Thursday.
