Inoculating unvaccinated senior citizens in WP underway

The three-day vaccination drive for People over 60 years of age, who have not received their first dose of the Covid vaccine got underway at three vaccination centres in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts today.

Accordingly, the senior citizens have been advised to get their vaccines at the Army Hospital in Narahenpita on August 11, 12 and 13.

The elders in the Gampaha District will be vaccinated at the District General Hospital in Gampaha on August 12, 13 and 14, while the vaccination rollout for senior citizens will take place at the District General Hospital in Kalutara on August 12.

The Government Information Department announced that they will be notified of the date, location and time of vaccination through an SMS.

People above 60 years of age who have not received the vaccine can contact the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on 1906 hot-line for further information. (AS)
