Health guidelines mandatory when transporting schoolchildren: Police

Health Guidelines and health care recommendations should be strictly followed when transporting school children by public transport facility, Police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

He said all schools in the country including three grades in the Western Province commenced today.

Therefore, the police have decided to extend their support and to cooperate with other stakeholders to care for schoolchildren's health and safety, DIG Rohana said.

The drivers and the conductors who engage in transporting school children in public or private transport facility should adhere to quarantine rules and regulations, the spokesman added.
