Govt. approves to import crude oil, diesel from Dubai company

The government has approved a long-term contract for importing crude oil and diesel for a period of seven to eight months from a Dubai-based United Arab Emirates (UAE) petroleum and petroleum products merchant wholesaler.

As such, bids have been invited from registered suppliers to award the long-term contract for importing diesel with a maximum sulphur percentage of 0.05 for a period of eight months from March 1 to October 31, and seven months for importing crude oil from June 1 to December 31.

The Cabinet Ministers approved the resolution submitted by the Power Minister to award the said procurement to the said entity. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
