While explaining the explosion of organic liquid fertiliser cans, Bio System Engineer Chandana Seneviratne said the explosions were caused by the action of microorganisms in these packages.

Addressing the media in Thalawathugoda, he said, these products are made in an acidified gas-free environment.

"Although it was possible to prevent explosions by adding chemicals to these cans, this was not done due to organic fertilisers. We are still in the early stages of fertiliser production, " he said.

This type of fertiliser is used in many countries, including Europe and India.

Chemical fertilisers have destroyed the micro-organisms on our planet.

There are companies in the country that produce and export organic fertiliser.

The story that the crop died using organic fertiliser is true. They should be used with proper knowledge.

Farmers in a highly literate country are those who have good knowledge. It will take at least three years for our soil to regenerate. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
