The National People's Power (NPP) today lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) over the non-implementation of law against the culprits who were involved in the egg hurling incident against JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Attorney-at-law Sunil Watalagala and former JVP provincial council member Mahinda Jayasinghe handed over a petition claiming that the police had failed to arrest and produce in court the suspects involved in the incident.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Senior DIG in charge of Western Province and three others have been named as respondents in the petion.

Jayasinghe told reporters that they would file a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court if authorities fail to implement law against the culprits. (Ajith Siriwardana)
