Countrywide liquor sales restricted on LG polls day

Colombo, May 2 (Daily Mirror) - Sale of all alcoholic beverages through liquor outlets countrywide will be banned on Tuesday, May 6 in view of the Local Government elections day by order of the Excise Chief and this ruling is exempted for the in-house guests of all Tourist Board approved hotels and boutique villas.

 
Excise Chief U.L. Udaya Kumara announced that retail liquor outlets will remain closed during the period between Monday, May 5 closing time to opening time on Wednesday, May 7.
