Cabraal banned from leaving Sri Lanka

Colombo Chief Magistrate's court today issued an order preventing former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal from leaving the country until 18 April.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawala made this order pursuant to a request made by former Southern Province Governor Rajith Keerthi Thennakoon through a private plaint filed in terms of section 136(1)(a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act.

The Additional Magistrate also issued notices ordering former Central Bank Governor to appear in court on April 18.
