The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has summoned Thirukumar Nadesan to appear before the Commission tomorrow to record a statement with regard to allegations revealed on the "Pandora Papers”.
An official at the Commission said Nadesan has been summoned to record a statement after they launched an investigation following the directive of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, the Bribery Commission appointed a special investigation team to probe into the Sri Lankans who were listed in the “Pandora Papers”.
The President yesterday instructed the Bribery Commission to conduct an immediate investigation on the Sri Lankans named in the ‘Pandora Papers’ and to submit a report on the probe within a month.
Former Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband Thirukumar Nadesan have been named in the ‘Pandora Papers’ that was released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) for having various accounts/ assets, off-shore. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
