Towards a Dengue-Free Colombo



Sri Lanka Navy personnel from the Western Naval Command conduct inspections and awareness programmes as part of the national dengue prevention campaign, “Towards a Dengue-Free Colombo,” today (9). A total of 77 naval personnel joined health officials, Public Health Inspectors, Divisional Secretariat officers and International Red Cross representatives to inspect 60 locations across Borella, Kotte, Mahara, Panadura, Wattala, Mutwal and Thibirigasyaya. The teams identified 1,796 potential mosquito breeding sites and conducted 101 awareness sessions to educate residents on dengue prevention measures. Pix by Sri Lanka Navy Media
