Army Chief says no curfew in Bamba, Wellawatta

Army Commander Lt. General Shavendra Silva has denied a media report that curfew has been impose in Bambalapitiya and Wellawatte until further notice and in Horana and Meegoda curfew had been imposed till Monday at 5am.

The report appeared on the Daily News Facebook page creating spreading panic among the public.

"This is completely false. I will be taking action against being falsely quoted," Silva said.

The government information department also denied the report. 

Since then, Daily News has taken down the erroneous article. (JAMILA HUSAIN)
