The eldest of the Ruhuna political family who once chaired the Diyawanna council, known to be a mild-mannered person who is not easily given to anger had flown into a rage the other day.
This had happened at a government group meeting held to discuss the Kotelawala National Defense University (KNDU)Bill with the Number Two in the chair.
At that meeting the former council chair had in his capacity as the top team member handling the subject requested the KNDU head and the chief mandarin for Defense to explain to the Diyawanna politicos present the nitty-gritty of the proposed Bill.
At this stage one of them had risen to his feet and begun holding forth on things which had no bearing at all on the Bill under discussion and this had infuriated the elderly politico so much he had given the former a tongue-lashing which he would never forget in his life, they say.
