Wild elephant electrocuted

A wild elephant that trampled on an electric trap in  Udawewa area in Diulapelessa had been electrocuted on Thursday night.  (08)   

The carcass was recovered last morning by the wildlife  officers from Mahiyangana. They said the jumbo was about 35 years of age  and nine feet tall.   

Diulapelessa Police and the wildlife officers are  conducting further investigations to arrest the individuals responsible  for laying the live wire.
