Stock of mobile phones and computers found at BIA

A consignment of mobile phones and Tab computers valued more than Rs.30milllion had been left unclaimed at the Katunayake Duty free Shopping Complex in the early hours of last morning.   

Customs officers said a passenger may have left the items in the Duty Free Shopping Complex when his attempt to smuggle it into the country failed,.   

They said they initiated investigations based on CCTV recordings to identify the owner of the stock of contraband.
