Schoolboy stabs another over love affair

A 14-year-old schoolboy who stabbed another schoolboy of his age during an altercation over his love for a schoolgirl was taken into custody by Diulwewa Police and later released on police bail and handed over to his father pending legal action.   

The suspect and the victim were Grade 9 students of two schools in Konwewa and Kahatagasdigiliya areas and neighbours in the village.   

The suspect schoolboy had stabbed the other spreading false rumours regarding the former’s fiancee, a student at Konwewa school.   

The injured was admitted to Kahatagasdigiliya hospital.   

OIC Diulwewa police IP K.M.W.D.Kodagoda is conducting further investigations.
