Private sector employees stage protest

The Private Sector Employees’ Centre and the Workers’ Struggle Centre staged a protest in front of the Ministry of Labour in Narahenpita on July 2, 2025, demanding the withdrawal of the proposed bill to eliminate the Rs. 2,500 budget relief allowance for private sector employees, along with several other demands.
